Goal for the comming season
Last year I had a goal that I didn't reach, for this comming season I will have more free time than last season and hopefully will be better the the 2009 - 2010 season, these are my goals:
1. Not to lose the memory card again.
2. Take more videos than pictures, I bought a new adapter for my spotting scope to be more steady.
3. Kill a big coues deer 120+, that was my goal last year and got not even close, I only shot my rifle once at a coyote and missed.
4. Get an even bigger mule deer than the one in 2010, they are out there, I only have to keep glassing till I see it.
Here is a video of my 2009 - 2010 season, it has been my best season up to date:

Rancho Lobos Hunt
As I told you before, I lost all my pictures from 2010-2011 season, I only have a few, out of those few are from the trip I made to Rancho Lobos. I had heard lots of stories about the ranch, but never had the privilege until January 2011.
Adrian had intvited me before, but couldn't make it, this time I wasn't going to let the oportunity go. Adrian and a two more friends (Mario and Toño) left on a thursday, since I had to work I left on friday early afternoon with Fernando, so we could get to the ranch in time for the evening hunt.
The first afternoon was no luck, we didn't get to see anything, there was lots of wind and probably the deer bedded down early, the following morning I went by myself to a small hill called "flores perez" from there I could glass far away, and did get to see a couple of small bucks and quite a few does, the small bucks were chasing the does.
Small buck looking out for the does.
Another small buck chasing a couple of does.
All the chasing got the deer tired early and bedded down.
That afternoon, Toño got lucky and shot his first javalina.
Toño got even luckier the next day, I went to the northen part of the ranch, were I got to see a few bucks, but no shooters, Toño and Mario went to the small hill I was the day before and got to see all the small bucks from the day before and a new buck that wasn't there when I was at the hill. I heard the shot and a few seconds later they called on the radio that they had a buck down, not to big but it was a nice buck, so everyone could go and help.
To our surprise it wasn't that bad at all, 10 point, 29" wide, Toños bigest buck to date. We had a little photo session and then headed to camp, since it was our last day at the ranch.
Toño with his buck.
The hole crew from left to right Mario, Fernando, Adrian, Toño and Myself.
Thanks to Adrian for the invitation, altuough I didn't get to shoot, I got to see lots of nice deer and help other friends on their hunt and the stories at the camp are always a laugh, looking forward to next season at Lobos.
August - September Trail Pictures
Here are a couple more pictures from the trail cameras, on these pictures we can see the deer are almost fully grown, I can't tell if these bucks are the same that we got to see back un June or July, but these are defenetly worth a shot on the season.
This is a nice coues, hopefully my nephew can get a shot, he hasn't taken any big game animal, this would be his first. Two years ago he had a chance to take a 10 point coues and blew it.
A doe with a little fawn, how old is it when they change they hair color?
Another nice coues buck...
Just a glimps at a very nice muley, deep forks, heavy, we can't tell how wide it is but, I am liking what I see.
Another nice muley, deep front forks, ang big eye guards pointing out...
A mule deer doe with 2 fawns, not something I see every day.
Not a very promising buck, probably would go into a managment category, depending if the antlers develop or not, the particularity of this buck is that the right ear is almost split in half, very easy to distinguish.
June-July Trail Pics
I have been a little busy with work these past few months and I haven't been able to upgrade the site, but with hunting season only 6 weeks away the fever is starting to kick in, I have a couple of trail camera pics I would like to share.
A couple of buck getting together.
This is a tall buck I have been seeing, we'll keep a close eye on this one.
This is the widest buck I got to see in the summer, only one picture of this one, hopefully I'll get more pictures to see how it develops.
This is a funny picture, don't know what it was trying to do, maybe fighting with another buck.
A comun scene at the ranch in the summer, bucks and bobcats together.

2010 - 2011 Season
It took a little longer than expected to update, and that was a huge mistake... I decided not to download any pictures from my camera until the season ended, well the season ended and work did not alow me to do so, until last week... When I got my camera to download the pictures I found that the memory stick wasn't there. Long story short, I lost my memory stick, don't know where and I had all my season pictures in there, about 400 pictures and more than 50 videos.
I did about 6 trips to my ranch and 2 trips to other ranches, where I saw many deer fighting chasing does, beding down, eating biznaga, most of those deer the were not shooters and the one's that were, stayed at the other side of the fence where we couldn't hunt. I would have loved to share them with you if I had not lost the memory card, I only have the sensor camera pics and maybe a couple more... The only trip I did download the pictures where the one I made to Rancho Lobos, no videos but I do have those pictures.
These past season I wasn't lucky at all, I didn't get to shoot, the one shot I made was at a coyote and missed, my expectations to shoot a 120+ coues deer did not come true and the mule deer I got to see where not shooters. Here are a couple of pictures of one of those bucks I got to see at the other side of the fence, this buck I calculated was a 30" 4 x 4 typical frame, very nice buck, it was a long ways away.
